PNG, JPG, TIFF, and GIF image files will have a thumbnail sized image automatically generated,
and mime-type is set for all common file types.
Using this service you can host your static catalog's original size and
thumbnail images entirely on Amazon S3. Expand your image zip file in S3 and generate thumbnail images.
This service does not use your local bandwidth
during the unzip and image generation process.
How do I UnZip and generate image thumbnails and convert TIFF to PNG images in Amazon S3 ?
Use CloudZip to generate thumbnail size PNG image files
from all your original PNG, JPG, TIFF, and GIF images that are
contained in a zip or jar file of images. The thumbnail image is created in
the same folder as the original image, and
preserves the aspect ratio of the original image. You enter the size of the
thumbnail to fit your application. You can choose the thumb name
appended or prepended to the name of the original image.
This service is compatible with the Image View service when you prepend a name prefix, as in this example
CloudZip Image Viewer for S3 images with prepended prefixes, view the page source to see the image path and prepended name.
First gather all your original images
and create a big zip or jar file of the images, then use the
Amazon S3 console to upload your file into your Amazon S3 bucket.
Then Sign In and click the Begin Now link you'll be taken to a form where you should enter the
following required information in the fields :
Thumbnail size - enter numeric width and height that
represents the length in pixels of the thumbnail's width and height that
will completely contain the thumbnail, default 97 x 57. The thumbnail
preserves the aspect ratio of the original image so the scaled original image
will completely fit within the dimensions you specify without distortion of the original image.
Common PDA screen, advertising, and web image sizes may be found here.
Thumbnail name - enter the text that will be appended or prepended
to the original name to create the thumbnail name, default is 'thumb_'.
Thumbnail name prepended or appended - select whether the thumbnail
name is prepended to the original image file name (e.g. 'thumb_image1.png), or appended
to the original image file name (e.g. image1_thumb.png).
The default is to prepend the thumbnail name.
The CloudZip Image View service expects the name prepended.
Bucket destination name - enter the S3 bucket name and path
of the folder that you would like as the destination of the unzip operation
(e.g. /mybucket/filesdestination or /mybucket ). Any files and folders contained in the zip
will be created in the destination as needed. To locate your buckets,
login to the
AWS S3 Console and look at the top level for your buckets listed in the All Buckets table.
Enter one of the bucket names into this field.
Create a bucket if you don't have one. If you desire, create an unzip destination
folder within a bucket.
Zip file path and name - enter the S3 path to the
zip file that you would like expanded into the destination folder (e.g. /mybucket/uploads/files.zip ).
One zip file path is required, wildcards are ignored. Any files and folders within the zip will be
created in the destination as needed. To locate your buckets and content, login to AWS S3
Console

Features and Benefits of UnZip and create Image thumbnails with TIFF to PNG Image conversion service for Amazon S3
Many content providers deliver a zip file that contains many images with different formats.
This service expands your image zip file and generates web thumbnail sized PNG images from original size PNG, JPG, TIFF, and GIF image files.
CloudZip creates image files as needed during the unzip including the original
image, thumbnails, and any other content in the zip, and sets common mime-type for all files.
The thumbnails are created in the same folder as the original image.
Need your TIFF images converted to PNG ? This service will automatically convert
most TIFF source image files to full size PNG image files and also generate a PNG thumbnail.
For example, if an original TIFF is named 'image1.tif' the converted TIFF to PNG image
will be named 'image1.png' and the png is typically a fraction of the size and may be rendered by
most browsers. Note: some TIFF format images may not be converted.
This service automates digital catalog image publishing where managing 1000s of
huge image files in mixed formats is challenging.
Easily use S3 to publish your files as static content. You can host your
static catalog and website entirely on Amazon S3. Once you enable your
bucket for static website hosting, all your content is accessible to web
browsers via the Amazon S3 website endpoint for your bucket.
You can use S3 to host a truly unlimited number of original images and thumbnails.
You should consider using the CloudZip FTP copy to S3
service if you need to copy a large number of big zip files into S3
