Uncompress and extract zip, jar, tar, gz, tgz, tar.gz, tar.bz2, tar.Z, or tar.xz archive
files directly from AWS S3 into your S3 bucket
Use CloudZip to uncompress and expand zip, jar, tar, gz, tgz, tar.gz, tar.bz2, tar.Z, or tar.xz archives from Amazon S3 into your S3 bucket and
automatically create all folders and files as needed during the extraction. Each extracted file has its mime-type
set for easy integration of images or files from S3 with web hosted content.
When you Sign In and click the Begin Now link you'll be taken to a form where you should enter the
following required information in the fields:
Bucket destination and folder name - enter the S3 bucket name and optional path
of the folder that you would like as the destination of the extract operation
(e.g. /mybucket/filesdestination or /mybucket ). Any files and folders contained in the archive
will be created in the destination and replace existing content as needed.
The destination folder itself must already exist. To locate your buckets,
login to the
AWS S3 Console and look at the top level for your buckets listed in the All Buckets table.
Enter one of the bucket names into this field.
Create a bucket if you don't have one. If you desire, create a extract destination
folder within a bucket.
Archive file path and name - enter the S3 bucket name and path to the
archive file that you would like expanded into the destination folder (e.g. /mybucket/uploads/files.tar.gz or /mybucket/uploads/photo.zip ).
One archive file path is required, wildcards are ignored unless the Archive path expression is checked.
Any files and folders within the archive will be
created in the destination as needed. To locate your buckets and content, login to AWS S3
Console AWS S3 Console
and look at the top level for your buckets listed in the All Buckets table. Select a bucket to open it,
select a file and click Properties to see its path.
If you need to upload a archive file, open the AWS S3
Console and click a bucket to open it, then click the Upload button to select files and folders,
and click Start Upload.
Archive path expression
- select this checkbox to use the Archive path and name as a regular expression that should match files to be found and
extracted into the Bucket destination and folder. When unchecked the Archive path and name should refer to one file.
Note the files matched by the expression must end with the characters zip, jar, tar, gz, tgz, tar.gz, tar.bz2, tar.Z, or tar.xz,
all other ending files will be ignored.
For example /mybucket/files/.*.tar.xz, /mybucket/files/.*.zip or refer to this
Regex pattern syntax.
AWS Access Key ID - enter your AWS Access Key.
You need to enter the Secret Access key in the field below. If you don't know your keys,
we recommend you create a new user for your AWS account, with S3 access, using the AWS Identity and Access Management page.
It is easy, see the
CloudZip IAM User Setup page for more information.
